Package Holidays
Booking a packaged holiday is the simplest and perhaps most convenient way of making vacation arrangements and it is not necessarily more expensive than booking individual travel components. The big plus however is that a package holiday offers ‘peace-of-mind’ whereas booking several components through numerous operators can prove risky if something goes wrong with one of the services.
This is not to say that things can’t go wrong with a tour operator, but providing the booking is made through a fully bonded tour operator then at least the customer is covered financially. Tour Operators also have far more liability when it comes to making a claim so customers with a complaint are much more likely to achieve a satisfactory conclusion to any claim than if the booking was made through several unrelated operators.
Tour Operators also invest time and money in checking resorts and accommodation and will generally provide the back-up of a professional representative in resort to advise and assist throughout the duration of the vacation. For the more independent traveller this is an unecessary additional expense built into the package, but for many it provides a welcome safety cushion should any issues arise during the the holiday. Another benefit is that all the components of the holiday are booked through one source; therefore there is only one point of contact required for queries, amendments or complaints.
