London 2012 - held to ransom by tube workers!
The Olympic Games are around the corner and it was only a matter of time before the left wing loonies who run the transportation unions decided to hold the capital and nation to ransom. A time when many thousands of people from around the UK are volunteering to do their bit to help ensure the success of the games; London Underground workers see it as an opportunity to demand more money because it might be a bit busier than normal and some of them might have to work some extra hours! In a climate of economic meltdown when over two million people in the UK are out of work I find it frankly offensive that this attitude is actually supported by anyone. ... Full story

Edinburgh is a delightful city to visit at any time of year; it is small and intimate enough to allow visitors to roam through its streets absorbing its architecture and ambience. Light Up Your Life in Leeds
The colder days and darker nights may be setting in “up north” but this doesn’t stop the hubbub of Leeds life. With the World Curry Festival, “Light Night” and Leeds International Film Festival quickly approaching, it’s time to consider what else Leeds can offer in terms of autumnal entertainment. Living in Leeds all my life, I never considered it a tourist destination; but when a foreign friend asked me what Leeds had to offer as a city break I realised that it truly lives up to its name as the capital city of the North. From specialist boutiques to waterside cafes; markets to museums and converted factories to high rise office buildings there is always something to amuse you in Leeds. Since the industrial revolution Leeds has been at the forefront of urban development and this has not changed today. It is the UK’s largest centre for business, legal and financial services outside of London and this prestige is reflected in the high calibre facilities it has to share. ... Full story
